The Dan Sweat Community Leadership Award
The Dan Sweat Community Leadership Award is given to a leader in the non-profit or public sector who has made a significant contribution to promoting responsible land use in the metropolitan Atlanta region. This award may recognize a significant contribution to responsible land use through development, or through promoting and implementing public policy that favorably impacts land use.
Past recipients are: Renee Glover of the Atlanta Housing Authority; Rand Wentworth of the Trust for Public Land; Susan Mendheim of the Midtown Alliance; Sam Williams of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce; Leon Eplan of the City of Atlanta, retired; The Honorable Sam Massell, former Mayor of the City of Atlanta; John Sibley of the Georgia Conservancy, retired; Bernie Marcus, benefactor of the Georgia Aquarium; Hattie B. Dorsey, former President of the Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership; and Wayne Clough and Carl Patton, who both received the 2008 award for their work with Georgia Tech and Georgia State, respectively.
