ULI Atlanta “Development of Excellence” Awards

The Development of Excellence Award recognizes an outstanding real estate development project that exemplifies ULI’s mission of providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities. For 2011, all Development of Excellence winners must have been developed with sustainability in mind. Eligible nominee projects also must have been completed during the past three years, must be in stabilized operation and have achieved market acceptance. For master-planned or mixed-use developments, the project must be sufficiently completed to have achieved the development vision and met the overall project goals. Programs and processes – such as growth management strategies and publicly guided development programs – are eligible if they have been fully implemented. Instead of meeting the financial viability requirement, programs will be considered on the basis of the soundness of investment of public funds and the extent of success in transforming communities and neighborhoods. All projects and programs submitted must have sustainability and green building aspects as a core focus.
